2009 Roundtable on Accessible Public Transportation in Developing Countries

The annual Roundtable on Accessible Public Transportation in Developing Countries will be held
Thursday morning, January 15, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at facilities donated by the American Public Transportation Association in downtown Washington, DC. at the end of the annual meeting of the USA's
Transportation Research Board.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

This is a preliminary announcement of our annual Roundtable on
Accessible Public Transportation in Developing Countries, to be held
Thursday morning, January 15, 9 a.m. to 12 noon at facilities donated
by the American Public Transportation Association in downtown
Washington, DC. at the end of the annual meeting of the USA's
Transportation Research Board.

The less formal Roundtable format promotes dialogue among participants
within a structure of brief reports highlighting current progress in
making public transport accessible to seniors and passengers with
disabilities in developing countries while also noting progress in
traditionally wealthier countries with helpful experience in our field.

As in past years, the event is co-sponsored by Access Exchange
International (AEI) and ICAT (The International Centre for Accessible
Transportation in Montreal, Canada).

Please contact me if you wish to bring a report or otherwise
participate. An agenda will be sent as the meeting date approaches.

With all best wishes,

Tom Rickert
