Universal Design in Homes: Service to a City & Personal Tribute to the Father of Brian Beyer

Spokane in Washington State may not (yet?) be on your list of "Top 10 Must-See Destinations" but it happens to be high on my list as the city where family attended university.

It also lies close to my aging father's favorite hunting and fishing sites - and he has just asked me (from his lonely hospital room) to find him a comfortable "cabin on a lake with its own dock" where we can enjoy some quiet time in nature together.

So it is personally moving to me to see the following report on the work of Brian Beyer. Not only is Brian doing a service to the Inland Northwest by introducing a concrete example of Universal Design in homes but his motivation was personal - his own father.

Now to quickly find that Universally Designed cabin on a lake somewhere in the Northwest.

Enjoy this clip from KXLY 4:

Great news clip for the Northwest! Let's keep joining hands and voices to increase the accessibility of homes, boats, cities and travel destinations.
