The conference was organized by the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute. The audience of 100+ heard the Minister describe what Access Tourism is, and how this was the fastest growing sector overseas. She pointed out that this is an economically important market that is neglected in NZ. The Honourable Tariana Turia, Minister for Disabilities Issues and co-leader of the Maori Party opened the inaugural Access Tourism New Zealand Conference at AUT University Auckland on Monday (October 4th, 2010).
